We are happy and proud to share the news that Star for Life has launched the school program on Mafia Island, Tanzania.
The launch was held in the presence of Star for Life’s Secretary General Jessica Grundström Ahldin, Chairman Pierre Delvaux and board members, Program Development Manager Christine Joao, Antigone Meda, Thanda Island General Manager and Star for Life coaches as well District Commissioner and District Education Director were also in attendance.
The project is currently operating in two secondary schools, and six primary schools, embracing 1700 learners and 74 teachers. These schools were recommended by honourable councillors based on the needs assessment survey.
Mafia Island is the third largest island in the Tanzanian ocean territory, with a population of around 50 000.
Star for Life would like to thank the entire leadership of the district head’s office, the district executive director office, politicians, education officials, head of school, Star for Life ambassadors, teachers and students for their support and cooperation in the daily implementation of the project activities.
