Together Against Hunger in South Africa
For sustainable nutrition in schools: The Veggie Garden Project
In South Africa, many schools struggle every day to provide their students with access to healthy, nutritious food.
To address this challenge while also raising awareness of sustainable practices, Star for Life launched the Veggie Garden Project.
The project supports schools not only by providing knowledge about healthy nutrition and sustainable gardening, but also by helping families establish their own vegetable gardens – a contribution that will improve quality of life in communities over the long term.
The Veggie Garden Project is part of our school programme, through which we support schools across southern Africa. (jag lade till southern)
Cultivating the Future
The Veggie Garden Project empowers schools and their families to grow fresh vegetables independently, giving them year-round access to nutritious food. Through hands-on gardening workshops, students and parents learn how to successfully cultivate a wide variety of vegetables.
They can apply this knowledge directly in their own gardens, enabling them to contribute to improved food security. Beyond directly boosting the nutrition of our schoolchildren, the project serves as a valuable educational initiative that strengthens awareness of healthy living.
Together Against Hunger
With your support, you help advance the Veggie Garden Project at an underprivileged high school in southern Africa.
Through your donation, we fund new plants as well as soil and tools for the school garden beds. You are investing in the fight against hunger and in the health and empowerment of young people and their families.
Let us work together to make a difference and give African children the opportunity for a healthy future!
