We motivate young people to invest in their education and health for a better tomorrow
School programme
While teachers focus on teaching, Star for Life coaches are on hand to support learners with self-esteem, study techniques, health, and life goals.
Through workshops, campaigns, and music, children and young people learn about everything from puberty, consent, sexual and reproductive health, relationships, and hygiene to empowerment, respect for others, creative expression, and entrepreneurship.
Our unique programme strengthens learners and motivates them to invest in their education and make wise life choices. The goal is to replace destructive behaviours with positive ones and help learners realise their dreams – step by step.
In this way, young people are better equipped to build a brighter future for themselves and, as adults, contribute to a more equal, just, and sustainable society.

Our work
To ensure that Star for Life’s school programme creates real and lasting impact, we continuously monitor and evaluate our work and share the results with our partners. This work is led by our Research Director, doctor Per Strand, PhD.

Health and Wellness-programme
Through our mobile health clinics, children and youth in South Africa and Namibia receive health screenings and psychosocial counselling – similar to student health services in Sweden.
Here, they can check their height, weight, vision, and learn about puberty, menstruation, hygiene, and nutrition. The clinics also provide in-depth conversations about consent, relationships, sexually transmitted infections, HIV and AIDS.
Through our clinics and school health campaigns, we equip young people with the tools they need to take responsibility for their own health, sexuality, and future.
In Ukraine and Jerusalem, our support is instead focused on war-related trauma and helping young people find pathways to self-esteem and hope for the future.

Gender Equality Programme – On the road to equality
Star for Life works to challenge harmful norms and reduce inequality.
Through Girls Clubs, we empower girls with knowledge about health, rights, concent and ententrepreneurship and how to pursue their dreams with confidence — while ensuring they have the menstrual products they need so they never miss school because of their period.
Through Boys Clubs, we guide boys away from the streets, drugs, and gangs and toward respect, responsibility, and self-worth. They learn about puberty, consent, gender equality and how education can open the door to future opportunities.
Together, these clubs help shape a new generation of young men and women who treat each other as equals and contribute positively to their communities.

Music and arts
Music also carries the power to spark hope. It gives young people a sense of belonging, a vision of a better world, and the emotional courage to dream beyond their circumstances. By integrating music into our educational programmes, we reach multiple senses, inspire resilience, and help students discover both who they are — and who they can become.
