Star for Life Namibia
Star for Life Namibia
After the success of the Star for Life programme in South Africa, it expanded to neighbouring Namibia.
Today, Star for Life Namibia operates in 19 schools across the country, working to strengthen learners’ self-esteem and support them in taking their education, health, and life dreams seriously. To do this, the team provides both in-class coaching and access to a Mobile Health Clinic.
The programme is led by Country Director Isabel N. Mendes-Siyamba.
Our projects
At Star for Life, we design and implement projects that create lasting change in the lives of young people and their communities.
Girls Clubs
South Africa & namibia
Too many girls grow up facing poverty, stigma, abuse, and gender-based violence. Through our Girls Clubs, Star for Life creates safe spaces where girls can learn, grow, and speak freely about empowerment, bodily integrity, consent, health, and entrepreneurship. Our goal is to raise a new generation of strong and independent women.
AIDS-free Campaign
Namibia
In response to major cuts in international funding, Star for Life Germany and Star for Life Namibia have launched an AIDS-free campaign to prevent new HIV infections and strengthen prevention and awareness at 19 schools in Namibia. With support from the German Postcode Lottery, the campaign is underway, and additional funding is being pursued.
Our work in Namibia
To ensure that Star for Life’s school programme creates real and lasting impact, we continuously monitor and evaluate our work and share the results with our partners. This work is led by our Research Director, doctor Per Strand, PhD.
