Star for Life startade som ett pilotprogram p\u00e5 Siphosabadletshe High School i Sydafrika \u00e5r 2005. M\u00e5let var att begr\u00e4nsa spridningen av hiv, st\u00e4rka elevernas sj\u00e4lvk\u00e4nsla och i f\u00f6rl\u00e4ngningen f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra deras studieresultat.<\/p>\n

I \u00f6ver 20 \u00e5r har vi gjort precis detta och sedan starten har \u00f6ver 540 000 students g\u00e5tt v\u00e5rt skolprogram. Idag leds verksamheten av v\u00e5r Executive Director Precious Dlamini och tillsammans med lokal personal s\u00e4krar hon att v\u00e5ra coacher fr\u00e5n skol- och h\u00e4lsoprogrammet m\u00f6ter elever varje dag, \u00e5ret om.<\/p>\n

Veggie Garden-projektet fr\u00e4mjar livsmedelss\u00e4kerhet, utbildning och h\u00e4lsa samtidigt som det synligg\u00f6r karri\u00e4rm\u00f6jligheter inom jordbruk och nutrition. Projektet forts\u00e4tter p\u00e5 Kufezekile High School, expanderar till Eldorado School i Namibia under 2026 med st\u00f6d fr\u00e5n Futura Foundation, och en tredje skola identifieras f\u00f6r implementering under 2026\/2027.<\/span><\/p>\n

Computer Projects<\/h2>\n

Efter framg\u00e5ngsrika datorprojekt under 2024 och 2025 kommer ett nytt projekt att lanseras 2026 p\u00e5 Emadwaleni High School i Johannesburg i samarbete med Montblanc. Genom att tillhandah\u00e5lla datorer m\u00f6jligg\u00f6rs deltagande i det nationella CAT-programmet, vilket st\u00e4rker den digitala utbildningen och framtida karri\u00e4rm\u00f6jligheter. Ett ytterligare projekt planeras till augusti 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Detta tre\u00e5riga projekt p\u00e5 Shumayela High School kombinerar Star for Life:s skolprogram med studie- och yrkesv\u00e4gledning inom logistik. Syftet \u00e4r att skapa tydliga yrkesv\u00e4gar f\u00f6r unga samtidigt som projektet bidrar till att m\u00f6ta kompetensbrist i Sydafrika och, p\u00e5 l\u00e4ngre sikt, i Tyskland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Statistics for South Africa:<\/h3>\n

Of all young people and adults aged 15-49, 17.8% were HIV-positive. HIV prevalence is significantly higher for women (23.5%) than for men (12.1%). An estimated 160,000 adult South Africans became newly infected with HIV in 2022, or 430 people every day. <\/p>\n

Among young people aged 10-19, i.e. the age group our programme serves, an estimated 28,000 were newly infected with HIV in 2022. This corresponds to almost 80 learners every day. About two-thirds of these newly infected young people are girls. <\/p>\n
