Star for Life Peer Education Training Camp, was held recently at Corner Stone in the North West.
The three day camp was held by, Johannesburg West SFL team, Area Manager Nozipho Mahaye, the Life skills Coaches and MHU (Mobile Health Unit) facilitated the camp activities. As learners and educators Partaken in all group Activities such as, Leadership skills, Communication skills, Healthy relationships, Team building, Counselling and Role playing, and Talent show. Learners also had time to reflect on all the activities on what they have learned, and also their views on how they think is best to face the challenges they have at schools and the community.
The purpose of the training Camp was to instil and strengthen good Leadership and Communication skills to our Peer educators, as they are the vital source of emotional support to their fellow school mates as well as major influence on their Behaviour, Attitude and Knowledge. And they have the potential to foster positive health behaviour and development.
