The Norwegian Control Committee for Fundraising has approved Star For Life to start fundraising in Norway.
This is an important milestone and commits us all to the high quality and transparency of our work, says country manager Jørgen Klafstad. It is also a notable recognition of Star for Life’s documentation of how funds actually are collected, used and followed up.
The Control Committee assures the quality of fundraising activities through its Fundraising Registry. The Registry is a voluntary registration for organizations that raise funds for charitable causes. Organizations that apply for approval for fundraising are required to follow specific accounting rules and to go through an external control. A minimum of 65% of funds (public funding not included) will go to the organisation’s stated cause. The calculation of the minimum proportion can be made in relation to a maximum period of 5 years.
