Anki Elken comes from the business community and most recently as sustainability manager at the Swedish HR company Randstad. She has previously worked at Kvinnoforum Foundation and at the Migration Board. She has extensive experience from various government inquiries and assignments.
Furthermore, Elken also has a long experience of working with Public Affairs and with social sustainability in the business sector, in the public sector and within idea-based organizations.
– Elken is a driven leader and has her focus set on human rights. I am happy to welcome her to Star for Life, where I see that she will add great knowledge as we now continue our international expansion, ”says Dan Olofsson, Chairman of Star for Life.
– I have been introduced in a fantastic way by recently visiting parts of Star for Life’s schools in South Africa. I have already noticed that I am surrounded by committed and generous donors and competent colleagues who all focus on strengthening young people’s self-esteem, self-insight and motivation. It feels extra exciting to be involved in Star for Life’s new establishments in, among other things, Tanzania and Norway, which are now our main focus, says Elken.
-I also hope to be able to contribute to the fact that more donors, not least in the business sector, will be able to participate and invest in our future, i.e children and young adults in Southern Africa, Namibia and Sweden.
Anki Elken succeeds Sam Olofsson, who will in the future be SfL’s Deputy General Secretary.
